Here, at our kennels in Hersham, Surrey, we care for between 50 and 60 greyhounds who have retired from racing and are waiting to experience life as a family pet. Moving these Greyhounds away from the racing kennel environment into the more relaxed and restful homing kennel is their first step on this road. The majority of our Greyhounds adapt very well, and do not appear to miss their days on the track at all.

We are very fortunate to have a wonderful network of volunteer walkers and supporters, who help us to assess each Greyhound, their likes and dislikes, their strengths and weaknesses. All of this helps us to build up a picture of how they will cope in a home, and when opportunity arises, we try to give each Greyhound a taste of life beyond these kennel walls.

Every Greyhound who leaves our kennels for a home is really just starting that long journey to becoming a family pet. Some adapt very quickly, and take all the new experiences in their stride. Others find the transition more difficult, and take more time to settle. However, the majority of our Greyhounds enjoy a wonderful retirement, and very quickly become a much loved member of their family. For those very few who cannot adapt to life in the outside world, we provide a home, here at the kennels. You can meet some of our long term residents on our sponsorship Page - Click here for more
