Sparky

SPARKY. AUGUST 1996 – NOVEMBER 2007

Sparky, one of our long term residents at the kennels, was put to sleep after a short illness. She was a lovely girl to care for, sweet natured and gently affectionate, and with that certain dignity which comes with age. Such girls hold a special place in our hearts. We felt that it would fitting for Diana and Richard to write a short tribute for her as they took her under their wing, and showed her a world outside of these kennel walls. The time that they invested in this little girl made such a difference to her life, and for that we thank them both.

SPARKY

Sparky, your passing has left a hole in our hearts.

How we looked forward to every Sunday when we came to the kennels to see you and your kennel mate Prince. You would always welcome us with your bright and smiling face and light, dancing step. What a girl you were, shy with odd little moments of feistiness, eagerly looking into our faces, your pretty soft coat pressed against us.

Sadly you were never to know the comforts of your own home, sharing life with a special person. Instead, we took you and Prince out on so many adventures and how you relished those trips to the Surrey Hills, picnics in wildflower meadows, bluebell woods and many National Trust gardens. You Reached the Beach, splashing joyfully and fearlessly in the sea showing Prince how to enjoy himself and you stoically did the sponsored walk.

It is some small comfort to remember all those happy days we spent with you in beautiful places because now walking down the range, your empty kennel is unbearable.

Sparky you were much loved and you will always remain in our hearts.

All our love, Diana, Richard and Prince
