Cute Irish Pixie

Cute Irish Pixie
1 May 2000 - 2 July 2007 (not long enough...)

They couldn't have come up with a more perfect name for a hound - she was cute, she was Irish and she was certainly a Pixie!

Less than a month after being diagnosed with advanced kidney failure, you went to the vets for the last time yesterday. You were brave and beautiful throughout and we will always love and miss you. Thank you for being our Angel-Chops, Pixie-Crow, Dogg-Chops, Angel-Crow, Princess, PixieG or whichever affectionate term came to mind!

We will especially miss:

Your head around the bathroom door on the way to 'doggy-bed', as we cleaned our teeth
You rearranging *our* duvet when I am in the shower, and the innocent face amidst the 'nest' when I come to find you
The look on your face when we say 'chocolate bone'
Your head on the parcel shelf watching the cars behind, or your nose pointing upwards sniffing the air when the roof is down
Snuggling in the mornings as soon as 'Daddy Dogg' has left for work
Woofing quietly and wagging furiously in your sleep
Your 'hoppity-skippity' walk
Circles on the beach
Paddling in 'Pixie's Pond', by 'Pixie's Bridge'
Squeaking the house down if you got pins & needles after lying down too long
Kisses from your favourite step as I leave for work, whether breakfast is finished or not
The plodding of your paws on the stairs, fast or slow, and the jingle of your collar
Drinking from the watering can even though you have a bowl of fresh water on the patio
Dancing after you fly up garden steps onto the patio
Singing 'dogg' songs to you, and hearing the neighbours laughing from outside the window
Playing 'Grrr' with your toys
Looking for cats and squirrels out of the back bedroom window
Your soft, nibbled ear and the smell of your head in the sunshine
Your ‘Pixie’ ways and your beautiful 'sad' eyes….
We would like to thank all those people that made her life extra special, including:
Ellie & Beckie
All of Middle Rank (especially the cats)
Both sets of 'Grandparents'

Pixie, always remember - you are a 'dogg'. Not just a dog but a greyhound and that deserves an extra 'g'!

Love and hugs,

Mummy & Daddy Dogg
