Jim
Jim (Formosa Jim) 11th December 1997 – 29th August 2006 How hard this is to write, to convey in words the news that Jim is no longer with us. Jim’s big,
kind, generous heart failed him, and we were left with no choice
other than to put him to sleep and end his struggle. Dot and I
stayed with Jim until he had slipped away, all the while telling him
what a wonderful, special and much loved boy he was. Jim was, for
so many years, such a big part of our lives. He was the first boy to
greet us in the morning, and the last boy we kissed and tucked in a
night. He was often the first Greyhound that our visitors met, a
duty he carried out with real panache, and his quivering lips melted
many a heart. Jim was loved by so many, and he had a special circle
of friends who delighted in making his life as interesting and
varied as possible. The pleasure he derived from these outings and
from all that individual attention was a magic we were privileged to
