Where is this year going? I cannot believe that
it is two months since we held our Annual Sponsored Walk in Painshill Park, and
I haven’t put an update on our Website.
Firstly I have to say that we had the most beautiful weather, a truly
magnificent September day. Our friends and volunteers made sure that every
greyhound that was able to go from the kennels went, and everybody was really
excited at the thought of exploring a new venue. They were not disappointed.
Painshill Park was beautiful, with something to delight everyone. Also, because
Painshill Park is literally ten minutes from the kennels, there was ample time
for a leisurely stroll and a picnic. Greyhounds and carers returned to the
kennels tired, but elated by the whole experience.
Our thanks to everyone at Painshill Park, who went out of their way to make us
welcome, and to Ania Catt our secretary who worked so hard to organise this
event.
We have already booked the date for next years sponsored walk, 6th September
2008, so make sure that you make a note on your calendar. For those of you who
missed it this year, here are a few pictures to wet your appetite in preparation
for next year’s excursion.
Whoops! Almost forgot it was a sponsored walk, so I need to let you know how
much money has been raised so far. The total money collected to date is £
5632.55. Well done everyone!!!
